Rabbi’s Message April 1, 2020

Message from the Rabbi; Since humans are social creatures, being required to stay away from others at this time, is a very difficult adjustment for us all, even if we are not infected by the coronavirus.  I strongly suggest we move away from the use of a most unfortunate meme that has spread throughout the land, i.e. “social distancing” and follow the lead of medical experts like Dr. Fauci who prefers the more accurate and helpful term “physical distancing”.  At L’Dor Va-Dor, we encourage everyone to stay safe through physical distancing, even as we continue to provide social support and interaction for each other, and unite against a common adversary.  Thus, our motto at L’Dor Va-Dor during this critical time is “physically distant while socially connected”, and the primary means for this connection is social media.  Look on our website and in your emails for more and more activities we are offering via the internet. If you need us for anything, please do not hesitate to contact us. As the Jews frequently repeated on their way to the Promised Land “We shall overcome”.  If we physically distance ourselves from each other at this time, but socially support one another through internet, phone and mail, together we shall overcome the coronavirus and all other plagues that afflict humanity.  I am hopeful that when this dreadful pandemic passes over us, that we will have learned that the cause and the cure to pandemics is global in nature, and we must heed the admonitions of the Jewish prophets who urged Jews to love one another and work towards the day when all nations are at peace and truth and righteousness shall prevail. For those who like to give hugs, you still can give a hug, even if remotely, by remembering what a hug stands for: Human Unselfish Gesture    Humanity’s Unlimited Goodness  Human’s Understanding God:  Human Uplifting GenerosityHumans Undertaking Godliness    Humanity’s Untiring Giving Warm Regards Rabbi Barry   Rabbi Barry Silver 18624 Cape Sable DriveBoca Raton, Fl. 33498(561) 302-1818barryboca@aol.com
