WHAT:

Wednesday, April 17 7:00 Controversial Issues Series discussion on Israel and anti-Semitism
Once again we will discuss this important topic which has been thrust into the news again by the recent elections in Israel, comments by Democratic candidates and our President.  This discussion will be led by Tzachi Gadish, IDF Captain and leader of the Jewish War Veterans International and by me.
(Captain Gadish has served in Israel’s wars and conflicts and has honored us by asking if his group can meet at LDVD. I strongly suggest we offer our synagogue as a free meeting place for his group in sincere gratitude for all they have done for the Jewish people and for Israel. Captain Gadish also advised that he believes this will be an excellent way to expose many loyal, faithful Jews to L’Dor Va-Dor and it is also an excellent way for our synagogue to confirm our commitment to our Mission statement to support Israel.

“If we do not stand for something, we will fall for anything.”

Let us all stand together against hatred and join with Muslims and those of every religion in standing up against hate and intolerance.   Hatred of Muslims only helps ISIS and Al Qaeda inspire more recruits to commit acts of terror against the “other” in an even more radicalized war of religions. This is worse than fighting fire with fire; it is like fighting fire with gasoline and just causes a bigger fire.   To put out the fires of violence and fanaticism, we do not need more fire, rather we need reason, dialogue and love.  Join us in using religion to build bridges of love and tear down walls of separation and to offer a moment of silence for the victims in New Zealand, followed by an end of silence and an interfaith call to action.
