Chaverim
What is a Chaverim? Chaverim is a group of friends and/or a social group designed to share, learn and experience together.
Replacing our Sisterhood and Men’s Club, we at Congregation L’Dor Va-Dor chose to form a Chaverim. Since the men and women often met together and socialized, it was felt that by combining our efforts, we could plan more events.
You do not have to be a Congregation member to be a member of our Chaverim, but we encourage you to join the Synagogue. The cost of most Chaverim events will be reduced for paid-up Chaverim members only.
Our Chaverim membership year runs from August 1st to July 31st coordinating with our Congregation year. Dues for one year are $25 for non-congregation members, and $20 for Congregation L'Dor Va-Dor members.
Our breakfast forums are informative, entertaining and stimulating covering various topics of interests from health related issues to controversial concerns, not to mention a great breakfast. We are also planning other activities for your enjoyment such as bus trips and movies.
Since Chaverim is a supporting arm of Congregation L'Dor Va-Dor, we will sponsor various fundraising activities from time to time to help supplement the needs of the Congregation.
We are always looking for ideas for future activities and for volunteers to help us. If you would like to help on any of our committees or if you hve ideas for functions, please let us know.
